Cuba advises Diplomatic Education program

Rome, Feb 7 (RHC) The Cuban embassy in Italy is supporting the sixth edition of the Diplomatic Education program, sponsored by the office of the non-governmental organization Global Action (GA) in this country, an official said today.

The inaugural event was held at the headquarters of the Leopoldo Pirelli High School, with the participation of GA coordinator Maddalena Patrizi, said Danis Zumaquero, third secretary in charge of Scientific and Technical Affairs of that diplomatic representation.

This year, the Cuban embassy is advising 16 students, who in the final phase of the program will simulate a United Nations Global Action Model (Gamun) in four different commissions.

Among these are those of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and the UN Security Council.

The Cuban embassy has been participating in this initiative since its third edition, and last year it advised students from the Vittoria Colonna State High School, who won second place at the embassy level and two individual awards as best delegates in the UNHCR and World Health Organization commissions, the source pointed out.
