Cuban President Describes European Tour as Profitable

Paris, Jun 23 (RHC) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel on Friday described his visits to the Vatican, Italy, Serbia, and France as worthwhile.

Meetings with local authorities, presidents, leaders of multilateral organizations, businessmen, representatives of solidarity, and Cuban residents marked a tour whose objectives the Cuban leader considered fulfilled for his country.

Díaz-Canel closed his tour with a meeting at the Cuban embassy in Paris, where he shared with diplomats the results of each stage of his tour.

Regarding his attendance to the France-organized summit, Díaz-Canel noted that he spoke on behalf of the G-77 + China, of which Cuba holds the pro tempore presidency, to call for a new global financial order to overcome the current unjust, antidemocratic, obsolete, and exclusive system.

He also praised his visit to UNESCO, where he was received by its Director-General Audrey Azoulay.

The Cuban leader also met with UN Secretary-General (UNSG) António Guterres, and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, as well as with Cuba´s friends from different sectors of French society. (Source: Prensa Latina)
