Havana, September 9 (RHC)-- French solidarity and cooperation associations made a joint petition on Saturday in support of the worldwide campaign against Cuba's inclusion on the unilateral U.S. list of countries sponsoring terrorism.

Cuba Coopération France (CubaCoop), Cuba Linda and France Cuba called to reach one million signatures in the initiative that demands Washington to exclude the island from that relationship in which it was reincorporated in January 2021 by then President Donald Trump (1917-2021), a few days before leaving the White House after his electoral defeat.

His successor, Joseph Biden, has maintained the accusation against the largest Antillean island of alleged support for terrorism without justifying it, despite his campaign promises to review that decision.

The French organizations recalled that Trump adopted 243 new measures to tighten the economic, commercial and financial blockade that the United States has imposed on Cuba for more than six decades, dozens of those actions decreed in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

With the designation in the list of countries sponsoring terrorism, it became even more difficult for the Caribbean nation to carry out transactions in the international banking system, and consequently to acquire in the market products and goods necessary for the population, among them fuel, food, construction materials and medicines, they warned in a communiqué.

CubaCoop, Cuba Linda and France Cuba denounced Washington's hostile policy and demanded the unconditional lifting of the blockade.
