Beijing sends senior official to G77 and China Summit in Cuba

 

Havana, Sep 13 (RHC) The member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China, Li Xi, will chair the Chinese delegation to the G77 and China Summit.

The head of the Central Commission for Disciplinary Inspection of the Central Committee of the Chinese party will also carry out a bilateral visit during his stay in Havana.

According to the island's ambassador in the Asian giant, Alberto Blanco, China is a relevant member due to its valuable experiences in science, technology and innovation for sustainable development and for its weight as one of the world's leading economies.

Blanco also highlighted the active role of the Asian country in projects for the development of Southern nations such as the Belt and Road Initiative, the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative.

The diplomat thanked the support that China has given to Cuba in its capacity as president of the Group, and reiterated the importance of Beijing's participation and support for the success of this meeting.

Likewise, he highlighted Cuba’s willingness to work closely with China and the other member countries of the Group in the search for a common design in the face of the most serious problems facing humanity.

The G77 and China Summit will be held in Havana from September 15 to 16. On this regard, the Chinese Foreign Ministry expressed its confidence in the contributions it will bring to developing countries. (Source: PL)
