Cuban president visits scientific centers in the country

Havana, December 14 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, visited today the Liorad base business unit, belonging to the Aica Pharmaceutical Laboratories, of the Group of the Biotechnological and Pharmaceutical Industries of Cuba (BioCubaFarma).

 

That plant, which stopped operations in 2020 due to the aging of its systems, is today one of the most modern in the country, with the responsibility of manufacturing all the dental anesthetics used by the health system, and around 30 other products, including liquids and lyophilized products.

 

Since last April, 1.4 million units were manufactured there, and it has the capacity to reach 3.7 million, explained to the President the general director of Laboratorios Aica, Antonio Vallín.

 

According to the profile of the Presidency in X, Díaz-Canel also arrived on Thursday at the Information Technology Enterprise (ETI) of BioCubaFarma, an entity that provides services and products of high added value in information technology and communications.

 

There, the head of state highlighted the innovative work of the company and the high level of training of its workers, while he especially emphasized the opportunities given to young people.
