Communist Party of Cuba holds 7th Plenary Session of the Central Committee

Havana, December 15 (RHC)-- Leaders of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) will hold this Friday the 7th Plenary Session of the Central Committee with an eye on priority issues for the country in the economic, political and social spheres.

Prior to the meeting, which will be held until tomorrow, a broad consultation process of the documents to be submitted for analysis was carried out in more than 34 thousand meetings, in which 750 thousand people participated.

According to the head of the PCC Organization Department, Roberto Pérez, the criteria received point out the need to update, modify and incorporate new guidelines to the Economic and Social Policy of the Party and the Revolution and the National Development Plan until 2030, with the aim of overcoming the situation the country is facing in the economic order.

The forum will also analyze the political-ideological work in compliance with the Ideas, concepts and guidelines emanating from the 8th Congress of the PCC, held in April 2021.

Likewise, the actions and compliance with the protocols established in terms of attention to gender violence will be evaluated, as this is a social problem.

"The conclave will constitute a space to reaffirm the commitment to continue building socialism and boost with greater energy the productive movement that the nation needs to be able to overcome the limitations imposed by the US blockade," Perez assured.

As in previous plenary sessions, the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee will give an account of its work since the last event of this type.

According to the statutes of the PCC, the Central Committee is the highest organ of leadership of the organization between congresses and is empowered to make the decisions it deems pertinent in order to comply with the policies and agreements of its assembly. (Source: Prensa Latina)
