Operation Truth, he said, is a challenge for the current times of media terrorism and defamation.

Havana, January 21 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel said today that wherever there is an alternative media project to the hegemonic dictates of the West, there is an active Operation Truth.

On the opening day of the New Operation Truth Forum held in this capital, organized by the Latin American news agency Prensa Latina, the head of state thanked the more than 60 participants from more than 30 nations for their presence.

He emphasized that the celebration of this forum is especially important because it takes up again the original Operation Truth, carried out in 1959 at the call of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, to refute the media campaigns against the nascent social project.

In addition, he said, because the meeting is convened by the prestigious Prensa Latina Agency, which has accompanied the Cuban government for 65 years.

"Welcome to Havana, comrades in arms," the dignitary stressed.

He expressed his gratitude because in these alternative trenches the voice of Cuba is heard loudly and the inclusion of the island in the unilateral list of countries sponsoring terrorism, the tightening of the blockade and the disinformation campaigns are being fought.
