Prensa Latina and the Hispanic American Press Association strengthen ties

Havana, Jan 30 (RHC) The Prensa Latina news agency and the Hispanic American Press Congress of New York signed today in Havana a collaboration agreement to promote academic and journalistic exchange.

The document was signed by Luis Enrique González, president of Prensa Latina, and his counterpart from the Hispanic American Congress, Amín Cruz, who promised to invite the Cuban news agency to all international events organized by that union.

González confirmed to Cruz the decision to make the reach of Prensa Latina available to the New York association, with a presence in more than 30 countries, and to promote the dissemination of the information agenda that gives priority to the Global South.

Recently, the Hispanic American Press Congress gave this agency recognition for its work in the service of the truth during its almost 65 years of existence and its ethical performance.

He highlighted how the agency broke the communication paradigms prevailing in the 20th century, and how it still does so in the 21st, as well as its ability to cross borders in the service of truth.

The distinction, the first granted by Congress in its 26 years of existence, was awarded last week at the New Operation Truth International Conference, which Prensa Latina organized in the Cuban capital with the presence of dozens of press professionals from 30 countries.  (Source: PL)
