Havana, April 22 (RHC) -– The recent visit to Cuba by the president and chief executive officer of the U.S. JetBlue airways company, Robin Hayes, indicates ongoing efforts to legalize direct flights between the United States and Cuba next year, according to U.S. publications.

Hayes traveled to Havana as part of the New York Trade Mission, headed by Governor Andrew Cuomo, which paid a two-day visit to the island and met with Cuban officials and entrepreneurs.

JetBlue could carry out negotiations with Cuban airports as part of this commercial initiative by the State of New York, the publication notes.

Along with Havana, the U.S. airline company is interested in connecting with other airports from western to eastern Cuba, which have been receiving regular flights by Canadian and European companies.
