Havana, July 31 (RHC)-- In Cuba, record temperatures were set during the month of July, with ten days of record heat. According to the Forecast Center of the Cuban Institute of Meteorology, these peak temperatures were reached in the provinces of Holguin, Matanzas and Santiago de Cuba, with 37.5 degrees Celsius in the first two provinces and 38.2 degrees in Santiago.

Experts say that high temperatures during July were the result of fewer clouds, intense solar radiation and weaker winds, together with a deficit of rainfall.

It is anticipated that the month of August will be also very hot, with maximum and minimum temperatures above average for Cuba.
