Montevideo, February 8 (RHC)-- Former Uruguayan President José Mujica has called Fidel Castro a legendary leader, who has and still today moves millions of people.

In statements to the Uruguayan newspaper La República, Mujica, today a senator for the Broad Front Party, referred to his recent visit to Havana, during which he met with the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution. He said that Fidel is active, very well informed and fully committed to just causes in Cuba and around the world.

Mujica said Fidel is in better shape today than when he had previously seen him two years ago.

"I was surprised to see that he no longer needs glasses to read. He keeps, as always, making intelligent questions. He is O.K.,” said Mujica and stressed that Fidel is undoubtedly a living legend.
