As part of the VIII International Convention of Physical Activity and Sports (Afide 2019), the head of Inder Osvaldo Vento Montiller met with the vice minister of sports massification of Venezuela, Arnaldo Sánchez.

"We ratify the unconditional support of the Cuban government, our Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, and Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez," Osvaldo Vento told JIT.

«The sports mission in Venezuela is one of our main strengths. The agreement has been consolidated over the years. It is a fortress, ”he said.

Sanchez, gold title of the International School of Physical Education and Sports of Havana (EIEFD), was in Afide 2019 at the head of a delegation of 20 Venezuelans.

"We address different issues, especially to work hard in the Barrio Adentro program, to solidify the massification, a vital activity for sports policy in our country," said the visitor.

"We also established actions to conduct training bases for several of our athletes in Cuba with a view to Tokyo 2020, with teams such as men's volleyball, boxing and fighting, to name a few," he added.

The VIII International Convention was held in Havana to exchange experiences in sciences applied to sport.

The next edition will take place from October 4 to 8, 2021 at the capital's Convention Center
