Both ministers ratified the ties of brotherhood and cooperation that unite their countries.

Doha, Mar 4 (RHC) Cuba's Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca, held talks on Saturday with Haiti's Minister of Planning and Cooperation, Richard Pierre.

The conversation, where both representatives ratified the ties of brotherhood and cooperation that unite their countries, took place in the context of the V United Nations Conference on Least Developed Countries, to be held from March 5 to 9 in this capital, Malmierca said on Twitter.

Cuba will participate from this Sunday in that meeting, which should approve a program to commit rich countries to contribute to the development of those who were colonized and plundered in previous centuries.

The Caribbean nation is attending in its capacity as president pro tempore of the Group of 77 plus China.

As such, according to the coordinator of the Digital Communication Group of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Raúl Delgado, it will advocate mechanisms for foreign debt relief and for mobilizing resources for countries of the South.

Cuba has always ratified its commitment to the development of the least developed countries, and defends their right to receive financing, aid, technologies, and knowledge transfer so that they can progress, he told Granma newspaper. (Source: PL)
