Cuba has 50 universities and half of its adult population has a higher education degree

Havana, Mar 7 (RHC) Cuba today has 50 universities, 113 careers and almost 50 percent of the island’s population has a higher education degree.

Speaking at the Mesa Redonda TV program Wednesday, the Minister of Higher Education, José Ramón Saborido, informed that all campuses have a high level of integration and the impact of sciences and technologies made it possible to improve their activities, highlights Prensa Latina.

Currently, the island has 241 thousand students enrolled in higher education, not counting those who attend careers in military higher education institutes, he said.

The minister also said that currently 9,580 foreign students attend Cuban universities.
