Cuban Five to Visit South African Parliament in Cape Town

Cape Town, June 23 (RHC) -– The five anti-terrorist fighters known as The Cuban Five are today touring the city of Cape Town, South Africa, where they will be welcomed at the parliament seat by lawmakers and other personalities.

The visit to the legislative body forms part of the Cuban Five’s tour of South Africa, which began on Sunday.

Earlier on Tuesday, Gerardo Hernandez, Antonio Guerrero, Ramón Labañino, Fernando González, and René González boarded the Thembikile boat heading for the historic Robben Island.

The Cuban Five are in the country from June 21st to July 3rd to thank South Africans for their role in fighting for their release from prison in the United States. In addition to a tour of South Africa’s iconic landmarks, the Cubans are also in the country to strengthen ties between the two governments.
