Havana, November 23 (RHC)-- The Hemispheric Meeting: "Defeat of FTAA, 10 years later", concluded Sunday in Havana with a final declaration, condemning coup d'etats and growing foreign military presence in Latin America. Participants also expressed their support for the proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a zone of peace.

In the final document, the delegates from 24 countries also stressed the need to fight together against free trade and transnational corporations, while also working towards deepened democratic processes and integration as a way to defend the peoples' sovereignty and independence.

The hemispheric meeting for the 10th anniversary of the defeat of the FTAA also issued a special declaration of solidarity with the Haitian people and with the Bolivarian Revolution in Venezuela against ongoing destabilization attempts by the country's right-wing sectors and foreign actors.
