Cuba's Rumbatá rumba ensemble

Havana, May 24 (RHC)-- The audiovisual Rumbatá directed by Cuban actress and filmmaker Isabel Santos won this year’s Cubadisco Award for Best Musical Documentary.

Co-produced by the Cuban Film Institute (ICAIC) and the City Historian’s Office in Camaguey, the audiovisual proposes an approach to the rumba ensemble Rumbatá, directed by Wilmer Ferrán.

It deals with the history of the dance company based on the testimony of its members. It also goes to the roots of Rumba --declared Intangible Heritage of Humanity by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
