Havana, May 13 (RHC)-- The Museum of Sacred Art of the Minor Basilica of the Convent of St. Francis of Assisi continues today with its May cultural program and its most emblematic themes of romanticism, baroque and other styles.

The monthly program, which, prior to Mother's Day in Cuba, features the Dulcian Trio and Frank E. Fernandez, who plays the oboe, according to the cultural institution itself.

With works by classics such as the German Johann Adolph Hasse (1699-1783), performers Maray Villeya, Abraham Castillo and Paula Suarez, in addition to Fernandez, will offer the audience the concert in F major for oboe, clarinet, bassoon and piano, the source added.

The Sonata E minor for oboe and piano, also by German composer Georg Philipp Telemann (1681-1767), will be the gift that the young instrumentalists are preparing at the historic venue, located in Old Havana.

The French composer Jacques Ibert (1890-1962) will play 5 Pièces en Trio for oboe, clarinet and bassoon, the Argentinean Astor Piazzolla's (1921-1992) Verano Porteño for oboe, clarinet, bassoon and piano, as well as the Trio for clarinet, bassoon and piano Op. 75, by another German composer, Karl Goepfart (1859-1942).

With these Saturday offerings at the usual venue in the historic center of the Cuban capital, these artists offer a tribute to mothers all over the country, he added. (Source: Prensa Latina)
