Cuban baseball: East beats West in All-Star game

Pinar del Rio, Oct 23 (RHC-ACN)-- Orientales showed a timelier batting and defeated 6-4 Occidentales in the All-Star Game of the 57th Cuban National Baseball Series that took place yesterday at Capitan San Luis Stadium of this city.

The match could not be completed because of the rain, which appeared in the bottom of the seventh inning.
OF Geydi Soler and SS Yordan Manduley drove in two runs each and DH Lazaro Cedeño hit 2 for 2 with an RBI as offensive highlight for the squad of the Eastern part of the country.

Meanwhile, SS Orlando Acebey offensively shone for the losing side with a two-RBI double.

The win went Yoalkis Cruz, who pitched two scoless innings with two hits and one strikeout, while Noelvis Entenza earned the loss when allowing two runs with only one hit and two walks in just one inning.

Thus, Orientales matched the series with Occidentales, 15 wins each, in the already traditional Cuban Baseball All-Star Games.
