Former pitcher Reinaldo Costa dies of COVID-19

Havana, August 31 (RHC) --The death of former pitcher Reinaldo Costa shakes Cuban sports today, whose main authorities issued messages of sorrow from the social network Twitter.

"Another news shakes us from the pain caused by the #COVID19: Reinaldo Costa has passed away, a great pitcher and Cuban who devoted himself with passion to his work as an athlete and coach," wrote the president of Inder, Osvaldo Vento Montiller.

"Our condolences go out to family and friends," added Montiller, just days after the death of another baseball player -- Giraldo González.

"From #InderCuba we join the pain of family and friends of Reinaldo Costa, glory of our #beisbol whose death today shocks the family of our sport," reads the institution's profile.

Born on February 9, 1959, Reinaldo Costa Acosta rose as a pitching star of his province in the eighties and stormed the elite since his tenure with the Cuba teams.
