The Cuban Handball Federation and the Portuguese Sporting Lisbon Club have signed a collaboration agreement.

Havana, October 13 (RHC)-- The Cuban Handball Federation and the Portuguese Sporting Lisbon Club have signed a collaboration agreement.

The agreement between the parties provides for the exchange both in sports, in terms of recruitment and training of athletes, as well as in technology and concerning the improvement of coaches.

In the first of these areas, the fruitful meeting was used to sign the contracts of three athletes who will join the club's discipline.  They are Hanser Rodríguez Rodríguez, Ronaldo Hiram Almeida Duquesne and Adan Armando Martínez Calzado.

The youngsters will complete their training in Sporting's youth teams and then join the first team of one of the most successful franchises in the Iberian country, with 19 titles in the Andebol 1 league and another 15 in the Portuguese Cup.

The understanding was endorsed by club director Carlos Hugo de Freitas Carneiro and Cuban Handball Federation president Franklyn Salvador Guevara Balcazar.

"It is an achievement to concretize an agreement we have been working on since 2017. The understanding we have signed today establishes a very fruitful exchange in core areas of handball in the country," the head of the discipline valued in exclusive statements to JIT.

Guevara Balcazar thanked the club authorities for the modest but courageous contribution in the donation made to the junior men's national team, which comes at a crucial moment when the team is preparing for the Junior Pan American Games in Cali, Colombia.

We are satisfied and consider it an important step for the development of handball. "Respect and kindness prevailed between the parties, in accordance with the demands of the club and the Cuban Handball Federation," concluded the director.
