Havana, October 29 (RHC/JIT)-- The second triumphs of Osvel Caballero and Kevin Brown have improved the Cuban performance in the World Boxing Championship held in Belgrade, capital of Serbia.

Caballero (57 kg), Pan American monarch of Lima 2019, disposed of Iranian Sajad Mohammadpour by way of RSCI in the intermediate round, after a protection count.

Kevin went 5-0 over Shain Boniface, from Seychelles, as a reward for a superior performance in all orders, valid to neutralize the offensive vocation of his opponent.

This Friday, the fight will host the debut of four-time world champion and Tokyo-2020 champion, Julio Cesar La Cruz (92), who will cross gloves with Bulgarian Rodoslav Pantaleev.

The Cuban is the favorite to take the initial step towards the scepter that eluded him two years ago in the Russian city of Ekaterinburg.

Cuba traveled to the world championship with eight competitors, but lost on Wednesday the consecrated Lazaro Alvarez (60 kg) and Roniel Iglesias (71 kg), the latter due to a face injury.
