 Cuban featherweight Saidel Horta

Havana, May 14 (RHC)-- Cuban featherweight Saidel Horta could not resist the thrust of local Abdumalik Khalokov and finished with a silver medal in the 22nd World Boxing Championship, which dropped its curtains at the Humo Arena in Tashkent, capital of Uzbekistan.

The referee of the fight gave the talented southpaw from Cienfuegos a protective count in the second round and also took away a point for irregularities in his actions, which together with the best technical arsenal of the Uzbek, granted him a unanimous vote.

Horta tried, tried to get in the short distance, but Khalolov managed to throw punches from long distance and grab when he missed them.

The final harvest of the students of head coach Rolando Acebal, who attended the event with a full roster of 13 fighters, was 39 wins and 12 losses.
