Ambassador of China in Cuba and Cuban Olympic leaders

Havana, January 28 (JIT)-- The ambassador of the People's Republic of China in Cuba, Ma Hui, visited the headquarters of the Cuban Olympic Committee (COC) to express thanks for the firm stance of that entity in relation to the imminent Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games.

The diplomat shared for an hour with Roberto León Richards and Ruperto Herrera, sports glories on the island and head and secretary general of the COC, respectively.

Ma Hiu expressed his wish that both countries could strengthen sports ties in the future, as is the case in many other sectors of society and the economy.

They also exchanged on the upcoming five-hole event in the Chinese capital, in which the Cuban side expressed its full confidence in the success that will reward the organizational efforts of the Asian Giant.

The distinguished visitor appreciated with admiration images of many Olympic champions of the Island, placed in the meeting room of the COC headquarters in Havana's Vedado district.

The Cuban and Chinese Olympic Committees do not have a bilateral agreement, but in the recent past important governmental agreements have benefited the development of sports in the Caribbean country.
