Havana, May 12 (JIT) - Cubans Ariel Martinez and Raidel Martinez underpinned the victory of the Chunichi Dragons in the Japan Professional Baseball League on Thursday.

Ariel, a catcher turned outfielder, batted 3-2, with an RBI and a ticket.

For his part, Raidel was in charge of closing the game, and in one inning of work he struck out two of the four batters he faced.

In Chunichi's 2×0 victory over the Yakult Swallows, Dayán Viciedo, who went 4-1, was also in the game.

Cuban Yurisbel Gracial also had an identical performance, although with two strikeouts, in the Softbank Falcons' 2×0 success against the Seibu Lions.

Meanwhile, Cuban Adeiny Hechavarría was unable to connect in four trips to the plate in the Chiba Mariners' 3×1 win against the Rakuten Eagles.
