In the Pacific Zone clash, the Cuban left-hander struck out two opponents and gave up one run, to improve his effectiveness to 1.08 and his strikeout total to 27.

His compatriot and teammate, Yurisbel Gracial, went 5-3, with a triple, two singles and a run batted in, to raise his average to 288, while the recently reappeared Alfredo Despaigne struck out in a relief appearance.

Meanwhile, in the Central League, the DeNA All-Stars defeated the Chunichi Dragons by a score of 7-6.

For Chunichi, Cuban Dayán Viciedo had two doubles and a single in four opportunities, to increase his average to 258, while Cuban Ariel Martínez also went 3-1, with a walk, to leave his average at 338.

In another duel with Cuban players, Leonys Martín, from Villaclare, hit his second home run of the season in three innings and towed the only run of the game in the closing of the tenth inning to give the Lotte Marinos a 1-0 victory over the Rakuten Eagles.
