Havana, July 20 (JIT) - The president of INDER, Osvaldo Vento Montiller, received in Havana Alvin Botes, first deputy minister of international relations and cooperation of South Africa, who is on an official visit to Cuba.

The representatives of both parties discussed issues of mutual interest, including cooperation in the field of physical activity, during a cordial meeting held at the Coliseum of the capital's Sports City, INDER'S main headquarters.

Among the participants on the South African side was that country's ambassador to Cuba, Yvonne Nkwenkwezi Phosa, along with other diplomats and advisors of the distinguished visitor.

The talks focused on opportunities for collaboration in disciplines such as boxing, athletics and others, and organizational details of the 2022 Race for Mandela, to be held on July 30 in Havana, were reviewed.

Botes was received on Monday by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba, Ricardo Cabrisas, at the beginning of his stay on the island.

The meeting revealed that there are many opportunities for joint work between the two countries, as they have 15 cooperation documents under discussion, signed or being executed at the government level.
