Havana, December 9 (ACN)-- The Cuban duos of Noslen Diaz-Jorge Luis Alayo, and Charlot Deroncele Nahomi-Dayani Zerqueira will compete from this Friday in the FINAL of the North, Central America and Caribbean Beach Volleyball Continental Tour (NORCECA) 2022, in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

According to the website www.norceca.net, teams from 12 countries will participate in the Dominican tournament, with an equal number of men's and women's teams.

This will be the first stage on the road to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and marks the beginning of NORCECA's Olympic qualification system for volleyball, which consists of a series of three Tour Finals in the region (2022, 2023 and 2024).

After the completion of the three Finals, eight National Federations per gender will get the tickets to the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Olympic Qualification Final 2024, which will take place in June 2024.

The winning National Federation in the men's and women's categories will directly guarantee their presence in the event under the five rings in the French capital.

It should be noted that each NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour Final (2022, 2023 and 2024) consists of 12 National Federations (m-f) with a maximum of one team (m and f), according to the NORCECA Continental ranking.

The teams that will compete this weekend will go through the preliminary inspection and the general technical meeting will be today to officialize group distribution and the competition schedule.
