Joy in Las Tunas to welcome Agricultores' champions

Havana, January 24 (RHC)-- The people of Las Tunas received on Monday the champions of Agricultores who were crowned in the first Elite League of Cuban baseball.

One by one they were descending from the top of the open-top bus in which the local players from Bayamo were traveling, accompanied by Carlos Martí, the helmsman who kept these warriors in the lead since the first sub-series.

Martí and the captain of the Leñadores, Yosvani Alarcón, received two plaques of recognition on behalf of the people of Las Tunas, delivered in the Plaza Martiana by political and government authorities of the province.

The popular gathering was attended by family members of the players, students, friends and fans who always bet on the triumph.

In addition to the popular hullabaloo, hundreds of people who could not get close to the Plaza because of the number of people who struggled to see and greet the Alarcón brothers, Rafael Viñales, Viera and Larduet, among others, went to the nearby balconies to enjoy the welcome.

Before arriving at the Plaza Martiana, the baseball players toured the different neighborhoods of the city, where they also received a standing ovation.
