Paris, February 15 (PL).- Bayern Munich confirmed Paris Saint-Germain's (PSG) poor form with a 1-0 victory in this capital in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16, despite Kylian Mbappé's efforts.

The first half at the Parc des Princes reflected a slanting pitch on the part of the visitors, who shot 10 times on goal to just one for the Parisians; however, the scoreboard reflected at the break the 0-0, broken in the 53rd minute by Frenchman Kingsley Coman, who shot as Alphonso Davies' pass was coming in.

After the Bavarian advantage, PSG coach Christophe Galtier sent Kylian Mbappé onto the pitch, so the red-and-blue club returned to its galactic trident, also composed of Lionel Messi and Neymar, without changing the fate of the challenge, although the face of the team, driven by the star striker, did change.

Bayern Munich came close to extending the lead in the 63rd minute, when goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and the post prevented Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting's goal, and moments later the Italian goalkeeper was called upon by Benjamin Pavard.

In the 82nd Mbappé, miraculously recovered from a thigh injury, turned the Parc des Princes into a madhouse with a goal disallowed by VAR for a tight offside call on Nuno Mendes.

For PSG it was their third consecutive defeat, after losing to Olympique de Marseille in the Coupe de France on Wednesday and at Monaco in Ligue1 on Saturday, while Bayern added their fourth consecutive win, when considering all competitions.

The hero of the evening was Coman, whose goal in the 2020 Champions League final gave Bayern the "Orejona" cup against PSG.

The second leg at the Allianz Arena in Munich will be played on March 8, where the hosts will be without Pavard, who was sent off just seconds before the final whistle.
