Paris, February 16 (PL) - PSG's star striker Kylian Mbappé has announced to the club's top brass that he will leave the club at the end of the season, but no further details of his departure have been released, according to media reports.

According to L'Équipe, RMC Sport and Le Parisien, the 25-year-old recently communicated his decision to PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who was the first to know, as the parties had agreed during negotiations last year.

News had been circulating for days that the striker would end his career at the Cité de la Luz on 30 June, when his contract expires, with most commentary placing him at Real Madrid.

In this regard, RMC Sport pointed out that there is currently no firm agreement with the Merengues, although very few doubt that this is his destination.

The France World Cup winner at Russia 2018 and runner-up at Qatar 2022 has spent seven seasons with PSG, the undisputed kings of Ligue 1, but without winning the UEFA Champions League.

The day before, Mbappé was instrumental in the Parisians' 2-0 win at the Parc des Princes over Real Sociedad in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie, taking his tally to 31 goals for the season.

It is expected that at a time that is not yet clear, Kiki and Al-Khelaifi will make the departure official.
