Havana, May 21 (RHC)-- The Cuban Greco-Roman wrestling team is already in Croatia to complete a preparation base until May 31.

The classical style team is made up of Kevin de Armas (60 kilograms), Luis Alberto Orta (67), Yosvani Peña (77), Daniel Grégorich (87), Yurisandy Hernández (97), Oscar Pino and Mijaín López (130), led by coach Raúl Trujillo.

Four-time Olympic champion Lopez is the great novelty in the group, as he is preparing to try for a fifth gold under the five rings, in Paris 2024, but has not officially competed this year.

The digital portal Jit indicates that after the preparation days, Trujillo will continue his trip together with Orta and Pino to take part in the third tournament of the ranking series, scheduled for June 1-6 in Kyrgyzstan.

The remaining gladiators will return to Cuba to conclude their preparation for the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador, scheduled from June 23 to July 9.

The Cuban wrestlers' calendar includes in September the world competition in Belgrade, Serbia, a qualifier for the upcoming Olympic Games, and at the end of October the Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile 2023.
