Chess Tournament in tribute to Che

New Delhi, June 14 (RHC)-- The Solidarity Movement in India organized today in Andrha Pradesh a chess tournament in tribute to Ernesto Che Guevara and to ratify the rejection of the U.S. blockade against Cuba.

Numerous children who love the sport of strategy participated in the Che Guevara Memorial Chess Tournament, on the occasion of the celebrations for the 95th anniversary of the birth of the Argentinean-Cuban revolutionary guerrilla fighter.

Che was an excellent strategist, hence his love for chess, said the solidarity group in the call for the tournament.

The organization Aipso also highlighted the coincidence between his attachment to peace, justice and inclusion, with the ideas defended by the great revolutionary during his life.

Aipso ratified its defense of democracy, anti-imperialism, social justice and international fraternity.

This movement also confirmed its rejection of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against the Cuban people.

Since his visit to India on June 30, 1959, India has professed an infinite love for Ernesto Che Guevara, who is remembered with devotion today.

His meeting at that time with the then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru was one of the extraordinary precedents of the relations of friendship and solidarity that Cuba and India maintain to this day.

Tomorrow the initiative will move to New Delhi, specifically to the Jawaharlal Nehru University, where it is expected the influx of admirers of Che, the game science and Cuba.(Source:PL)
