Putin calls Future Games historic for sports

Havana, February 21 (RHC)-- Russian President Vladimir Putin said Wednesday that the international 'Future Games' tournament is a unique part of the history of world sport that began in his country.

Opening the competitions in the city of Kazan, he said: "The event will be held according to the Phygital concept, which combines the physical with the digital, and we have always been in favour of promoting sport and its high humanistic values. The Future Games are our gift to the world sporting family".

Putin noted that Russia is also the land of great scientists, designers, engineers, whose achievements opened new horizons of knowledge to humanity.

"Today our research teams, our enterprises reach the highest levels in digital technologies and in the application of artificial intelligence, in spheres that are at the forefront of progress," he added.

"Of course, for centuries Russia has been famous for its generosity and hospitality, always ready to welcome friends, to organise for them great colourful holidays, including sports holidays," the head of state stressed.
