Cuban duo of Cirilo-López to the final of the C2 at 500m in Szeged

Havana, May 10 (RHC) - The Cuban duo of Yarisleidis Cirilo and Yinnoly Francheska López advanced this Friday to the final of the C2 500m at the World Cup of canoe sprint in Szeged, Hungary, by placing second in their semifinal heat .

The Cubans clocked 2:03.20 minutes on the course, and were only surpassed by the Hungarians Bragatto and Benkucs, winners of the series with 2.01.28.

Sixth in the last Duisburg-2023 world championship and qualified for Paris-2024 in that category, the Cuban duo will seek a medal this Friday in the final of the famous Hungarian Cup.

Among the nine pairs qualified for the final are the Canadians Vincent-Mckenzie and Jensen-Lillie, the Chinese Xu-Xun, and the Spanish Jacome and Corbera, world runners-up in Duisburg-2023.
