Havana, Jun 6 (JIT) - Cuban Liván Moinelo struck out 18 players today, but left without a decision in the defeat of the Softbank Falcons 2x3 against the Yakult Swallows, in the Japanese Professional Baseball League 2025.

For the Central League and visiting the Meiji Jingu Stadium, the left-hander from Pinar del Río did not flinch in front of a crowd of almost 30 thousand spectators, and pitched eight solid innings with three hits and two walks, allowing no runs.

When Moinelo closed the eighth inning, his team was leading 2x0, but the two relievers who followed him could not keep the lead.

In the bottom of the ninth, Yakult scored two runs off Mexican Roberto Osuna to tie the game, and in the tenth he left the Falcons on the field by scoring the game-winner off closer Yuki Matsumoto.

With this performance, the speedy left-hander now has a total of 76 strikeouts for the season and ranks second in that department, behind Tatsuya Imai (78, Seibu Lions).

After this game, his record stands at 5-0 and his ERA at 1.30 WHIP.
