Havana, July 9 (RHC) - Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) thrashed Real Madrid 4-0 today at MetLife Stadium and advanced with authority to the final of the Club World Cup in the United States.
The European, French Cup and Super Cup winners continued their golden moment after thrashing Inter Miami 4-0 in the round of 16 and beating Bayern Munich 2-0 in the quarterfinals. Today, they produced another strong performance to eliminate one of the favorites in an early final.
Two early mistakes by the Casa Blanca backline were capitalized on mercilessly by Luis Enrique's men. Fabián Ruiz and Ousmane Dembélé, with two consecutive left-footed strikes, made it 2-0 in the first nine minutes.
Ruiz repeated after an assist from Achraf Hakimi, to seal the match before the half-hour mark and unleash the Parisian party on the New York pitch, while Xabi Alonso's Vikings faded under the pressure.
In the second half, the humiliation continued, as indelible as the storms that have marked this edition of the tournament, with a goal by Gonçalo Ramos in the 87th minute.
PSG will play in the final against Chelsea, 2-0 winners over Fluminense in the previous matchday.
