Conakry, Apr 1 (RHC), – 'Doctors Without Borders' has warned that the Ebola outbreak in Guinea is an "unprecedented epidemic" that is dangerously widespread across the African nation.

"We are facing an epidemic of a magnitude never before seen, in terms of the distribution of cases in the country: Gueckedou, Macenta, Kissidougou, Nzerekore, and now Conakry," said Mariano Lugli, the organization's coordinator in the Guinean capital, Conakry.

Lugli said the spread of the disease across the country has made it tough to control.

The warning comes after Guinea's President Alpa Conde appealed for calm as the number of deaths linked to the outbreak hit nearly 80 people.
"I call on people not to give in to panic or believe the rumors that are fueling people's fears," he said.

The aid organization, known by its French initials MSF, is adding to the number of its field workers with experience on the disease.

Meanwhile, authorities in neighboring Senegal have closed the land border with Guinea. Liberia, another neighboring country, has also confirmed its first cases of the deadly contagion.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced two Ebola cases among seven samples tested from Liberia's northern Foya district, confirming the spread of the virus across international borders for the first time.

The deadly viral infection, which is spread by close contact, was first discovered in Congo -- then known as Zaire -- in 1976. There is no vaccine or specific treatment for Ebola and the disease kills up to 90 percent of its victims who suffer extensive internal and external bleeding.

This is an urgent plea for assistance, to Africa, to combat the ebola outbreak! During the 1976 ebola outbreak, African doctors discovered that, giving a transfusion of blood, from, an ebola survivor, to an infected person, is an effective treatment!! The World Health Organization even, states that it is effective. However, they have failed to implement this treatment!! Nevertheless, the American doctors that was cured, here in the U.S., gave another American doctor, infected with ebola, his blood as a treatment. Please see link .....http://www.nydailynews.com/life-style/health/ebola-survivor-donates-blood-treat-infected-doc-article-1.1936560 I am sending this comment because, I do not trust the World Health Organization, nor the west. I do not believe they have Africa's best interest ,in mind. Please inform the medical team , sent to Africa,of this treatment, so that they may stop the deaths of our people! Please pass this message along, to the president Castro!! Long live Cuba...we love you!!! Rosa Kamson

This would have already been implemented in an European country or continent!! I completely agree with Aunty/Sista Rosa Kamson's assessment:Rosa Kamson say:Sep 14, 2014 3:41:21 AM This is an urgent plea for assistance, to Africa, to combat the ebola outbreak! Africa has been at the center of "world shit" since the time of middle passage, to colonialism, scrambling for Africa, apartheid, liberation struggles, Congo turmoil, ethnic wars, draught, diseases, brain drain, dumping of toxic wastes, aids and the ebola epidemy, I here by call on Cuba "the friend of Africa" to do more in rescuing Africa frm iminent epidemy and catastrophic consequence. The West is playing obvious game with the issue. Viva Fidel Castro!

Historically, Cuba and the Cuban people have always offered assistance to African nations. This was so evident during the liberation struggles of many African nations. Now that African nations and peoples face the 'threat'of ebola the need for assistance from Cuba is once again needed. Therefore I share this appeal of Rosa Kambon "This is an urgent plea for assistance, to Africa, to combat the ebola outbreak! During the 1976 ebola outbreak, African doctors discovered that, giving a transfusion of blood, from, an ebola survivor, to an infected person, is an effective treatment!! I also request that the Cuban Government send Medical Teams that can assist in the saving of lives in Africa. thanks

First of all, I give thanks to Cuba for, the 165 medical team, sent to Africa to assist with, the ebola outbreak. I firmly believe that it was your team that expedited the use of blood transfusion, from ebola survivors, into those infected Thus increasing survival rates. A welcomed progress, since the Wold Health Organization, has been dragging their feet of this issue, for months! Today, I would like to request that Cuba, expedite the use of HIV medication, as a treatment for ebola. It has been shown that a 3-5 day treatment, increases survival rates from 10-50%, up to 86%. However, once again, the WHO, is dragging its feet on this issue!!, Below, I have posted and article and a video,on the use of HIV medication, which includes the information about, the Liberian doctor who, successfully used it! Once again, Thanks You for all you do for Africa!! Viva Cuba!! Rosa Kamson http://www.cameroononline.org/doctor-treats-ebola-hiv-drug-liberia-video/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXIqIEL3LNk
