Sydney, February 26 (RHC)-- In Australia, Norwegian oil company Equinor announced it was abandoning plans to deepwater drill in the Great Australian Bight Marine Park.

Equinor is now the third major oil company to pull out of drilling in the Bight, after BP and Chevron, following a long campaign by indigenous leaders, activists and locals who are hoping to have the marine park recognized as a World Heritage Site.
