New York, July 6 (RHC)-- In the U.S., Duke Energy and Dominion Energy have canceled plans to build the Atlantic Coast Pipeline, in a major victory for Indigenous and environmental activists who have opposed the project since it was announced in 2014.

The 600-mile pipeline would have carried fracked gas from West Virginia to North Carolina, passing under the Appalachian Trail in Virginia’s George Washington National Forest.
