Washington, July 10 (RHC)-- Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar is facing criticism after claiming that healthcare workers “don’t get infected” with COVID-19.

HHS Secretary Alex Azar said: “We have healthcare workers.  They don’t get infected, because they take appropriate precautions.  They engage in social distancing.  They wear facial covering.  They use good personal hygiene.”

In fact, as many as 768 U.S. healthcare workers have died from COVID-19, according to a count by The Guardian and Kaiser Health News.  Some 95,000 healthcare workers have also tested positive for the virus, according to CDC data.
