Chilean police repress demonstrators.

Santiago de Chile, October 25 (RHC)-- Diverse social organizations denounced this Sunday the repression by Carabineros against demonstrators that concentrated in the Plaza de la Dignidad in Santiago de Chile, minutes before polls closed for the constitutional plebiscite.

Despite the fact that the day was developing peacefully, a group of Carabineros attacked the citizens with water cannons and tear gas, preventing a rally from taking place.  According to eye-witnesses, the plaza was surrounded by police officers.  Alternative journalists also denounced attacks by Carabineros against their media teams.

A few hours before the closing of the electoral day, thousands of Chileans were waiting to meet in the Plaza de la Dignidad to honor the victims of repression and to celebrate the certain victory for the change of the Constitution.
