Buenos Aires, June 24 (RHC)-- After reporting 792 deaths in the last 24 hours, a record for a day since the beginning of the pandemic, Argentina surpassed 90,000 deaths due to the coronavirus, reported Wednesday authorities of the Ministry of Health of the Nation.

Health authorities reported that 90,281 deaths were reported and despite the decrease in the levels of COVID-19 infections, the South American country presented 21,387 new cases, bringing the nation's total number of infections to 4,298,782.

The Argentinean Ministry of Health stated that the number of daily deaths due to Covid-19 has not decreased from 500 for several weeks, with an average of 524 specifically, generating uncertainty regarding the Delta variant, and its possible circulation within the country, for which reason the alert is still in effect.

The epidemiological report states that there are 7,326 coronavirus patients in intensive care in the country, with a national bed occupancy rate of 72.6 percent, with the Manaus and Andean variants of the virus as those with the highest incidence and causing complications, even among young people.

In this sense, specialists attribute this phenomenon of deaths to the peak of infections that occurred more than a month ago, with a higher incidence in patients between 40 and 60 years of age, who mostly occupied the Intensive Care Units, and with a higher propensity to present complications and die.

"Once again, we want to convey peace of mind. We will continue to complete all vaccination schedules with all vaccines.  It is possible to combine vaccines from different laboratories in view of the eventual difficulty in accessing second components of the same brand," said the Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti.

Fortunately, early Wednesday morning the country received a flight from Qatar Airways with 464,000 doses of Sinopharm, which completed the 2 million doses expected for this week, bringing the total number of vaccines received since the beginning of the pandemic to 23.8 million.

Its sad to hear the amount of deaths in Argentina, but they only have them selves to blame, They are an arrogant race and think they are above everyone. They only had to follow the example of Australia and they wouldn't of been in such a mess and would of only had about 3000 deaths. I believe that death toll will surpass 120000 people by year end. I only wish them all the best. good luck to you all..
