United Nations, September 21 (RHC)-- The president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, opened the debate of heads of state and government of the 76th Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations with a speech in which he mentioned the key points of his administration in front of his country.

"I come here to show a different Brazil than what the media points out.  Brazil has changed a lot since we took office in January 2019," said the president, before enunciating that there are no corruption cases during the two years and eight months of his administration.

Instead, the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) of the Brazilian Senate investigating his administration during the pandemic began inquiries in August 2021 on indications of corruption due to overbilling in the contract between the Ministry of Health and the company Need Medicines for the acquisition of the Covaxin vaccine.

Likewise, the Brazilian president launched harsh criticism against previous socialist governments.  "Brazil has a president who believes in God, respects the constitution, and values and the family.  We were on the verge of socialism and now our state-owned companies are more profitable," he added.

"Our Development Bank was used to finance works in communist countries, without guarantees. Those who fulfill these commitments are the Brazilians themselves," he expressed, while promising that Brazil had a credibility already recovered.

"Brazil has the largest investment partnership program with the private sector in its history. A program that is already a reality and is in full implementation," he continued.

On infrastructure issues, he pointed out that 34 airports and 29 port terminals were auctioned to the private sector. "We introduced the railway authorization system, which brings our model closer to the American one. In just a few days, we received 14 applications for permits for new railroads with almost 15,000,000,000 in private investments."

"In our government, we promote the emergence of the railway modal. Great progress is being made in the area of basic sanitation, with the largest leilão of the sector carried out in April. We have everything the investor is looking for" - @jairbolsonaro at the #UNGA #GeneralAssembly.

He announced that an auction would be held in the coming days to implement 5G technology in Brazil. In addition, he argued that progress has been made in basic sanitation such as water and sewage distribution, whose concession to the private sector was held in April, as the largest auction in the history of the sector.

In contrast, the cost of living in Brazil has risen, making food and fuel prices unaffordable for millions of low-income people.
