Havana, December 13 (RHC)-- Sacha Llorenti, Executive Secretary of ALBA-TCP, Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People's Trade Agreement, said that this organization seeks complementarity with other integration mechanisms.

At a press conference in Havana, he also stated that 17 years after its creation, it is a priority for the alliance that the community of Latin American and Caribbean states be strengthened and become the genuine integration instance for its peoples.    He stressed that if the UN Charter were respected, there would not be so many difficulties in building a more humane world and a more just society.

Llorenti also highlighted the positive changes in Latin America since the recovery of democracy in Bolivia after the coup d'état, the electoral victories in Nicaragua and Venezuela.

This Tuesday, the XX Summit of this organization will be held in Havana, and among the topics to be addressed are the prospects for strengthening the Alliance, jointly evaluating the regional scenario, defining actions to guarantee regional peace and stability, as well as political coordination to prevent interference in its internal affairs.
