Washington, July 14 (RHC)-- The House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol has revealed stark new details tying former President Donald Trump to the most violent extremists leading the insurrection.

During a public hearing Tuesday, the committee heard live testimony from a former spokesperson for the Oath Keepers militia group, Jason Van Tatenhove.  Tatenhove said: “I think we need to quit mincing words and just talk about truths.  And what it was going to be was an armed revolution.  I mean, people died that day.  Law enforcement officers died this day. There was a gallows set up in front of the Capitol.  This could have been the spark that started a new civil war, and no one would have won there.”

Some of the newest evidence presented Tuesday came from the recent deposition of former White House counsel Pat Cipollone, who described heated arguments in the West Wing over Trump’s attempts to find a pathway to remain in power.
