Cristina Fernandez

Buenos Aires, August 25 (RHC)-- Political and social organizations in Argentina on Thursday reiterated their support for Vice President Cristina Fernández and denounced the media and judicial persecution against her.

For this day, the Justicialist Party in Buenos Aires plans to hold an open meeting to analyze actions in defense of Peronism and express its repudiation of the attempts to proscribe Fernandez, who is also the president of the Senate.

On the other hand, Congresswoman Matilde Bruera and groups in Santa Fe province called for a mobilization to condemn lawfare and defend the rule of law and democracy.

In a joint communiqué, the Grandmothers and Mothers of Plaza de Mayo Founding Line, the Association of Families of the Disappeared and Detained for Political Reasons, HIJOS Capital organization, the Argentine Human Rights League, and the Memory, Truth and Justice Commission, among other organizations, also denounced the attempts to proscribe the former president.

She is accused of illicit association and fraudulent administration of funds due to alleged irregularities in the concession of 51 public works during the administration of his husband, Nestor Kirchner (2003-2007) and her administration (2007-2015).

The relations between judges and prosecutors are obvious, which evidences the lack of impartiality in decision-making and alerts us about the possible outcome of the case.

Pablo Moyano, co-president of the General Confederation of Labor, assured that a large demonstration is being prepared to support Fernandez, and the parties that make up the bloc Frente de Todos (Front of All) called on the militants and all Argentinians to defend democracy and its leaders.
