Jorge Rodríguez, noted that Mike Pompeo, in this book "Never Give an Inch," admitted the U.S. planned a military invasion of Venezuela.

Caracas, January 28 (RHC)-- The National Assembly (AN) of Venezuela will investigate the conspiracy revealed by the former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in his book, which narrates plans against the South American nation.

In a press release, the National Assembly notes that, during the ordinary session held the day before, the second vice-president of the Parliament, Deputy América Pérez, made the request for investigation to the Permanent Commission of Internal Policy.

The parliamentary highlighted that, in his book "Never Give an Inch," Pompeo admits that during the administration of former President Donald Trump, they took actions to get involved in Venezuela's internal affairs.

According to Pompeo, in 2018 they exerted greater pressure in the economic area to influence the presidential elections held that year, in which President Nicolás Maduro won.  In addition, they tried to bribe Maduro to go to Switzerland.

For his part, the president of the National Assembly, Deputy Jorge Rodríguez, highlighted on his Twitter account that Pompeo admitted the diplomatic status of Alex Saab and accepted "that they planned the military invasion of Venezuela", as well as the delivery of resources to the right wing of the country.

In turn, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil recalled that "while the empire was planning death in our country, here it was supported by groups that were selling out the homeland and our denunciations were often ignored on an international level.  Today, the aggressors are confessing."

Finally, the Venezuelan Minister of Defense, Vladímir Padrino López, also made a statement highlighting "another confession of the former Secretary of State in the Trump administration."  "They contemplated invading us and financed a war against Venezuela counting on the subversive faction that has tried by non-democratic means to attain political power.  They have no shame.  And they will never succeed," he said.
