Venezuela and Algeria strengthen ties of bilateral cooperation and brotherhood

Caracas, June 9 (RHC)-- The President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, received Thursday the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Algeria, Mohamed Abdelhafid Henni, who visits this South American country in order to strengthen the ties of cooperation and brotherhood between the two peoples.

"Pleasant visit to the Miraflores Palace of Mohammed Abdelhafid Henni, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria," said Venezuelan President Maduro on his Twitter account about his meeting with the official from the African nation.

The Venezuelan president added: "The brotherhood and cooperation between our peoples is mutual and marches towards a good future.  We will move forward!"

The Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that Abdelhafid Henni heads his country's delegation participating in Caracas in the IV Meeting of the Venezuela-Algeria Joint Intergovernmental Commission.

During his stay in Caracas, which ends on Friday, Abdelhafid Henni also held meetings with the Venezuelan Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, and with Foreign Minister Yván Gil, with whom he reviewed the cooperation mechanisms that seek to strengthen bilateral rapprochement, as well as to promote agricultural production in the country," the press release added.

President Maduro carried out a visit to the African nation in June 2022, where he announced the creation of the mixed commission to elaborate a bilateral map with the purpose of consolidating economic, energy, commercial and cultural agreements.

At the end of his meeting with President Maduro, the Algerian minister offered statements to the media in which he made a summary of the meetings he held this Thursday.   Abdelhafid Henni reiterated his spirit of brotherhood and unity of ties with the people of Venezuela.
