Caracas, August 29 (RHC)-- The president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, said Monday that the BRICS group (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) represents the new world order without colonialism.

During his program Con Maduro +, the head of state highlighted that the recent XV BRICS Summit, held from August 22nd to the 24th in South Africa, showed that it constitutes "the new world order without hegemonism, without empires, without colonialism and of free and independent countries, of sovereign peoples."

In addition, the Venezuelan leader described as positive the decision to incorporate Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates into the group as of January 1, 2024.

On the other hand, the Venezuelan leader also highlighted the position of BRICS on the use of national currencies for international trade and financial transactions.

"They have decided to conduct inter-BRICS trade in national currencies, a gigantic step towards the construction of the monetary system of the new world, of the world of change, of the world to which we belong," he emphasized.
